Electroplated galvanized gaskets are gaskets that deposit a zinc layer on the surface of carbon steel or alloy steel through an electrolytic process. The thickness of the zinc layer is usually 5-15μm. Its surface is silvery white or bluish white, and it has both anti-corrosion and decorative functions. It is one of the most commonly used surface treatment methods in the industrial field.

Material: Q235 carbon steel (conventional), 35CrMoA alloy steel (high strength), the substrate hardness is usually HV100-200.
Features:
Basic anti-corrosion: Neutral salt spray test 24-72 hours without white rust, suitable for indoor dry environment;
Economical: low cost, mature technology, suitable for large-scale production;
Compatibility: good combination with a variety of coatings (such as paint), can be repainted.
Function:
Prevent gaskets from direct contact with connecting parts to avoid electrochemical corrosion;
Disperse bolt preload and protect the surface of connected parts.
Scenario:
General machinery (such as motors, reducers), building steel structures (bolt connections), automotive parts (chassis fixing).
Installation:
When used with standard bolts, tighten according to torque requirements (such as the torque value of 8.8-grade bolts refers to GB/T 3098.1);
Avoid sharp tools from scratching the coating to prevent local corrosion.
Maintenance:
Regularly check the integrity of the coating, and zinc-rich paint can be used to repair damaged areas;
When exposed to a humid environment for a long time, it is recommended to use anti-rust oil.
Select the coating thickness according to the environmental corrosiveness: 5-8μm for indoor equipment and 8-12μm for outdoor equipment;
Preferably choose cyanide-free zinc plating process, which complies with environmental protection standards such as RoHS 2.0.
Type | Electroplated galvanized gasket | Colored galvanized gasket | High-strength blackened gasket |
Core advantages | Low cost, strong versatility | High corrosion resistance, color identification | High strength, high temperature resistance |
Salt spray test | 24-72 hours without white rust | 72-120 hours without white rust | 48 hours without red rust |
Applicable temperature | -20℃~80℃ | -20℃~100℃ | -40℃~200℃ |
Typical scenarios | Ordinary machinery, indoor environment | Outdoor equipment, humid environment | Engine, vibration equipment |
Environmental protection | Cyanide-free process complies with RoHS | Hexavalent chromium must comply with REACH, trivalent chromium is more environmentally friendly | No heavy metal pollution |
Economic needs: Electroplated galvanized gaskets, suitable for ordinary industrial scenarios;
High corrosion environment: Colored galvanized gaskets, give priority to chromium-free passivation process;
High load/high temperature scenario: High-strength blackened gaskets, matching bolt strength grade (such as 42CrMo for 10.9 grade bolts gasket).
